Sunday Stockings

This is Otter's Christmas stocking.  It was handpainted by her Texas Grandmother, Nana, when Otter was a baby for her first Christmas.  When we moved from TEXAS to Oklahoma, Nana sent it to her.  When Otter was younger, it was filled with the usual:  small toys, miscellaneous stuff and some candy.  The last couple of years, it's been filled with only candy.  A lot of candy.  She hopes that this year will be the same.  I'm pretty sure it will be!

We had a short trip this morning.  We went to a small town about 45 minutes away.  To an antique/junk store that is really neat.  Froggy, you'd love it and Toadles probably would as well.  Especially since part of the building is a converted railroad car.  We didn't buy much, but it was still a really fun trip.  While we were there, we had lunch.  Froggy, I bet you can't guess where! :)

We originally were going to Ft. Smith and Springdale.  They're in Arkansas.  There was a pachinko machine that Bill wanted, which was in Springdale.  He made arrangements to look at it today, and we were going to go on to Ft. Smith which is just a little south of Springdale, where there were two others.  But when he called the Springdale guy last night, he said that he'd sold it already.  Since the other two machines were mostly because we would have been in the area and not spectacular machines, he decided it wasn't worth going all that way for what he could probably find here.

Other than that, it's been a somewhat quiet day.  Otter and BF have gone out, they are seeing the new movie Tron and going to eat afterwards.  Since Otter had a date tonight, Bill and I decided that we needed to have one too.  We went to a Chinese buffet.

Then we went to Target.  Bill got my Christmas present.  I wanted a blender, he thought I should get another food processor.  So we compromised.  We bought a blender/food processor combination.  I think I'm about out of appliances to ask for now.  Last year, it was the crock pot and can opener (one was Christmas, one was birthday).  Guess I'll have to come up with something else for next year.

Otter and Bill are both off the next two weeks.  I work through Thursday, then I'm off the 24th and the next week.  Bill thinks he's going to cut firewood tomorrow.  Better make sure that Otter has the first aid kit handy!
