Today, like most of the country, Oklahoma went to the polls.
Among other things, Oklahoma will have it's first female governer.
Among other things, it looks like there will be a record (or close to) turnout for a non-Presidential election. Our polling place was pretty busy, we were # 785 and 789 and they were saying that they expected to hit 1,000 for the first time.
Among other things, one of the people casting votes today was OTTER.
The poll workers were making a big deal out of any young person voting, and they really were excited about her. There was another young voter, a boy, and he was obviously voting for the first time as well. I'm really glad to see that. He looked a little overwhelmed, but they were happy for him as well. Otter talked to BF, and he voted for the first time today also.
Otter was very happy to get that "I Voted" sticker. We went to Wallyworld after we voted, and the greeter made a big deal out of it which probably made her day.
I have never made a secret of my political preferences and don't intend to start now. But it's up to Otter if she wants to share her votes, so I'm not going to go into anything about who/what she voted for. But my voting preferences have not changed. If anything, they are more conservative than ever.
I'm just glad to see so many people voting today, no matter what side of the aisle they are on. It's too important to not participate.
