Today is a Fun Day!

It's Dr. Suess Day!

This is what brilliance looks like.  And genius.  Did I mention brilliance?  Mom read these to me (and probably Froggy as well) and that is one tradition that we definitely continued with Otter.

When Otter was little, she had all the Suess books. She loved them all.  When we read this one to her, as soon as we were finished she would head straight for Bill.  And if he was sitting down, she'd go hop on him.

But there were a few that were more special.  Hop on Pop was certainly one, as was One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.

This was the most special of all of them.  We had to read it over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over...

I still know most of the words one by heart.  I think we all do.

And most people probably still think that they are "just" kid's books.  When in fact they are something else altogether.  And they are sheer brilliance.

My favorite Dr. Seuss

You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes.
You can steer yourself in any direction you choose.
You're on your own.
And you know what you know.
You are the guy who'll decide where to go.
I also like Green Eggs and Ham.
