Happy Dance! Doing the Happy Dance!

Because it looks like the rent house is rented! Yay!

Our agent called last night, she has an application from a young couple with a baby and she said that their credit & job history checked out. She's going to meet them tomorrow (Thursday) and get the lease signed, as well as pick up the check for the deposit & rent. They want to move right before the 1st, which is fine with us! I think it was more than worth it to replace the master bedroom carpet and restore the hardwood floors because we asked more for the rent this time. So think good thoughts for us that nobody changes their mind before the lease gets signed!

I'm just glad we'll be getting our life back. We've spent so much time over at the rent house, it's taken a lot longer this time than it ever has before. Of course, a lot of that was due to Bill's accident and then the floors took about a week as well. But I'm so glad we did as much as we did.

I really think that winter is going to arrive early this year. It's been nice and cool lately, we've needed jackets the last couple of days. Today was warm, in the 80's, but it has been in the 50's the last few nights. The trees should start turning any time now. Fall is wonderful up here, I just could do without the ragweed but we'll have to deal with it for a while. Until we get a freeze. Hate the stuff! My boss thinks that we should start a national foundation devoted solely to eradicating ragweed from the world. He might be on to something!

We are neighbor-less on one side now. Phyllis has moved, we thought she had the other day when a UHaul showed up and we saw them moving out at lightning speed. We saw her today, she said that she's all moved out except the garge and that was what they were working on tonight. She never really could afford that house by herself, but we were hoping that she might figure something out because she is a nice person and a good neighbor. She's raising her Downs Syndrome grandchild on her own, this little girl is just adorable! Just the sweetest thing. Last Halloween, the granddaughter was dressed as a Lady - right down to the string of pearls around her neck! She was just priceless and she was having a good time. Phyllis was supposed to be doing a rent-to-own deal but now we think maybe it was a normal rental with the option to buy later, because she told me she wasn't able to get the financing together and that's why she had to move. I hope we get nice, quiet neighbors. Otter hopes that they have kids her age (good kids) and Bill just hopes that they aren't teenage boys!
