It's only Wednesday but it feels like the week should be over already! Just 2 more days, then it will be over.
Our leasing agent brought us the rent check tonight. She met with the couple tonight and gave them the keys, collected the rent and did the walk-through. Bill went over there this afternoon to make sure everything was ready, and there was nothing to be done so we are officially finished with it! The new tenants wanted to have either sattelite or cable installed, I'm not sure which, and the installer called to get permission. Which they are always supposed to do, but this is the first time it's actually happened. Bill told him about the re-wiring he'd done, and the installation tech apparently realized that Bill speaks his language because he agreed to leave the existing wiring and he said he could see where he needed to hook on - exactly where Bill told him. We are really encouraged that these tenants may stay awhile. They bought new appliances, we had several phone calls to confirm sizes last week. They seem to have gone to quite a bit of trouble & expense, at least for what most renters do. I'm very glad that we did as much work as we did, it's paying off.
The Tulsa Health Department has issued a Ragweed Alert. I'm not surprised, I've known for days & days that the ragweed was exploding. I've been fighting it all day. Frasier sneezes as much as I do! It's even affecting Bill, which it never does. We have had rain this week, so even more ragweed will grow! The field behind us was mowed somewhat this week, hopefully that will help my allergies. A good, hard freeze would take care of the problem entirely. Until that happens, I guess I'll just deal with it!
Otter's been working on teaching Maggie to shake hands. Or paws, as the case may be. She's done it a couple of times now. Maggie still dances, and she is now learning to shake. Poor Frasier, his little sister is outshining him!
Otter and I are going to the zoo on Sunday, we haven't had any Mom/Daughter time lately and we are planning a day to just enjoy and spend some time bonding. We have regular days planned that we call Mother/Daughter Days where we spend the day together, activities that we feel like at the time. I've noticed that we are spending more and more of those days shopping!
We have a shopping trip planned on Friday after school, Otter's been re-doing her room and she picked out her new bedding & curtains yesterday at Target. (Yes, I'm shopping there again - they haven't had the bell ringers the last 2 Christmas seasons but they did make a big donation to the Salvation Army last year. This year remains to be seen, but for now we are shopping there again.) Anyway, back to the subject. Otter's new curtains are navy blue but they are more sheer than we anticipated, so I think we're going to get a tension rod to fit inside the window and something slightly dark or opaque to hang from it. Her new comforter bedspread is full size, because now that we don't have to spend every second at the rent house we will have time to get her a bigger bed. She's outgrown the twin bed, actually a while back. The comforter is a darker blue shade with lighter blue in it and it has some lavender & teal decorative details. It's reversible to teal. It actually looks pretty good. We're going to pull down the wall paper border that is in her room and possibly stencil paint on the walls. When it's finally finished up, I'll post pictures but it will be a while!

It's way past time to get Otter's bed. You were talking about it in June. The new colors aound great.
What are you going to stencil on the walls? I have about finished the master bedroom. We are still working on Scott's bedroom. It should be finished this week.
I think bathrooms are the next project. Froggy
Yeah, I know! But right after our June conversation, the tenant moved out and the rent house took up just about all of our time - and extra $$! But now we are through with it and can get back to real life.
No idea what's going to be on Otter's walls yet. She'll decide eventually. Maybe!
And you've been working on your bathroom since BEFORE June. :)
