They attack without warning. But they are easily subdued with a belly rub.
Don't let them get to this point! It's too late then, if you haven't rubbed the belly by this point - there is no hope for you. You will lose toes.
Or fingers. Especially if you happen to be holding a piece of lettuce in your hand when the carpet shark drifts by. Your left thumb might be on the menu. :)
Of course, they are so cute that you have to forgive them.
But don't hold the lettuce in your hand the next time!
