The Things You See in Tulsa on a Random Weekend...

Introducing:

Paige the Sketchbook and Tony the Talking Clock, from the slightly odd and off-kilter story Don't Hug Me, I'm Scared

(Also known as Otter and J.)

(Keep in mind that Otter is very much her mother's daughter and not everyone will like the story!  OK, it's actually a creepy story, so consider yourself warned.)

Otter made her own costume, there is a red skirt underneath the white skirt but it's not visible in this picture.  The clouds, orange, pencil, etc., on the skirt and blouse are felt that she painted and appliqued on.  She's wearing long satin gloves and tights, and obviously a multi-colored wig - I think nearly everyone that was there in cosplay had on either a hat, headpiece or wig depending on the character they were portraying.  Plus she is also wearing white face makeup with black accents (the glasses are hers and are real, she's nearsighted) and she's carrying a magnifying glass.  J's costume is a suit jacket and black slacks, and he's wearing white gloves.  He made the sash and the clock applique, he's carrying an apple which Otter was originally going to paint on one side as if it was rotted but the apple is plastic and the paint probably wouldn't have stayed on very well without scratching off.  J's eyebrows are also yellow, which Otter colored with chalk dust, basically.

They were very popular and quite a few people wanted their picture.  Otter said that she will probably re-work the underskirt idea, she might use red tulle and attach it to the bottom of the white skirt instead of actually wearing the 2nd skirt.  The idea is that she pulls up the edges of the white skirt in a curtsey and the red skirt (which was supposed to look like raw meat) shows but the red skirt kept sticking to the white one.  She's wearing several fluffy petticoats underneath and they stuck to the red skirt which stuck to the white skirt, and the point is NOT to show her undies!

(Yes, J really is that tall.  And Otter is on the petite side.)
