Boring Thursday Ramblings

I realized today that when I did my year-end blog, I forgot about a couple of things. One of them was in March, our friend Larry lost his battle with cancer. He was a very good friend and we'll miss him. The other thing was that October was not quite as quiet as I originally thought - the check theft happened in October. But it's been dealt with and it's a closed chapter now.

It's pretty cold, it was about 12 degrees this morning. Today I remembered to get out and warm up the car before leaving for work. Unlike yesterday! Talk about cold! We just brought in some more firewood for tonight, then tomorrow night we'll bring in a lot more. We have a chance of wet, white stuff tonight but only a slim chance. The forecaster said that it would be well south of us with the probability of only a mild dusting for us. In other words, exactly what they said in December! And that turned out to be a bad ice storm, the proof of which is still in my front yard and yards all over the area, in the form of assorted limbs.

I see that Otter has finally gotten around to posting on her blog again. About time!

Bill got Otter big time today. We heard his car when he got home, so she went to the door to greet him. He snuck around to the side of the house and came in the garage door, through the kitchen door. He saw her outside on the front porch looking for him, so he shut the front door behind her and ran to the office. She comes in the door yelling at me for shutting it on her, then she said she couldn't find him and WHERE IS HE HIDING NOW! About that time, she heard him giggling and realized that he'd been the one to shut the door and get past her. He isn't managing to put quite so many over on her, she's catching on to him.

We've officially closed our eBay business. I filled out the final forms with the IRS yesterday and the state tax commission today. Any eBay sales we make now will just be as individuals and not as a business. It's been fun, but it's run it's course and it was time. Probably past time! Anybody want any cardboard boxes? We got plenty left over! They'll probably get taken to the recyling center in the near future - or as soon as I can get Bill motivated! So maybe by this time next year...
